We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes at meez—and we’re thrilled to bring you one of our biggest performance and product updates to date.
From near-instant data refresh times to long-awaited inventory upgrades and deeper infrastructure improvements, our Q1 product releases were packed with enhancements designed to make your kitchen operations faster, smarter, and more reliable.
Here’s a look at what’s new, what’s better, and what’s been fixed. Plus how these updates impact your day-to-day life.
Lightning-Fast Data Refresh
We’ve completely overhauled our data infrastructure, reducing data refresh times from 6–8 hours down to just 5–10 minutes. And we’re not stopping there—we’re working to get that down to 1–2 minutes in many instances. Inventory data is already leading the charge, now updating in as fast as 1 minute.
Why this matters:
- Your analytics dashboards stay up to date as changes happen.
- You’ll make faster, more informed decisions with fresh data at your fingertips.
We’ve implemented multiple tests to ensure everything updates properly.

Smarter, Smoother Inventory Workflows
If you use meez for inventory, we’ve got big news. Some of the most requested improvements are now live—and they’re game-changers for speed, usability, and flexibility:
- Active count visibility: View real-time count values before submitting, giving you clarity as you work.
- Add items to active count sheets: Spotted a missing item while counting your freezer? Now you can add it on the fly—no need to start over or update your sheet template first.
- Sticky search bar: When working with long count sheets or templates, the item search bar now sticks to the screen—saving you from endless scrolling.
- Open details in a new tab: Need to fix an issue or check a detail while building a template? Just click the item to open the associated ingredient or recipe in a new tab.
And that's on top of:
- Including prep actions in count sheet templates
- Displaying error icons for missing cost or yield data
- Adding system ingredients to count sheet templates
- Creating new ingredients from a count sheet template
These changes, combined with the real-time analytics updates, make this the most flexible and responsive version of inventory tracking we’ve ever released.
Better App Performance Across the Board
We’ve also tackled some major performance issues—especially for large organizations and teams working with complex recipes that include several sub-recipes.
Notable fixes:
- Faster load times for recipes and sub-recipes
- Improve costing accuracy and performance
- Stabilized nutrition calculations for your recipes
- Improved PIT logic for approving costs at multiple locations at once.
- Ownership logic improved for sub-recipes
In short: your workflows should feel faster and smoother throughout the app.

Usability & Experience Improvements
We made a series of small but mighty enhancements based on your feedback:
- Soft Deletes: Accidentally remove something important? No problem. Admins or Client Success Managers can recover items at any time—no more permanent losses.
- Search Results: Existing recipe books now appear when you search. We also have better search matching logic for ingredients, recipes, and recipe books.
- Prep Action Deletion: A warning message will appear if you try to delete a prep action that is in use, followed by an error message.
- Mobile Display Fix: No more cut-off content at the bottom of your screen.
- Navigation Highlighting: The sidebar better highlights the page you’re on, so you always know where you are.
- Print and export issues resolved: You can now print recipe books properly. No more failed imports due to high costs. Public recipes now print as expected.
Behind the Scenes: How It Happened
This release represents months of collaboration across our engineering, product, and QA teams. After holding back some features during the holiday season, our most recent releases included nearly 200 updates—our largest batch yet.
A special shout-out to the QA team for keeping everything tight. And to all our users: thank you for your feedback, patience, and enthusiasm as we continue building the best tool in the business.
Coming Later This Year
We’ve got a lot more in store for 2025—and it’s all about giving you deeper insights, tighter integrations, and more control over your operations. Here’s a peek at what’s coming next:
